* reboot: arm: change reboot_mode to use enum reboot_modeRobin Holt2013-07-094-4/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Preparing to move the parsing of reboot= to generic kernel code forces the change in reboot_mode handling to use the enum. Many of us have been really busy lately getting multiple drivers to a better position. Since this pull request is so large, I will divide it in sections so it's easier to grasp what's included. - cleanups: . UDC drivers no longer touch gadget->dev, that's now udc-core responsibility . Many more UDC drivers converted to usb_gadget_map/unmap_request() . UDC drivers no longer initialize DMA-related fields from gadget's device structure . UDC drivers don't touch gadget.dev.driver directly . UDC drivers don't assign gadget.dev.release directly . Removal of some unused DMA_ADDR_INVALID . Introduction of CONFIG_USB_PHY . All phy drivers have been moved to drivers/usb/phy and renamed to a common naming scheme . Fix PHY layer so it never returns a NULL pointer, also fix all callers to avoid using IS_ERR_OR_NULL() . Sparse fixes all over the place . drivers/usb/otg/ has been deleted . Marvel drivers (mv_udc, ehci-mv, mv_otg and mv_u3d) improved clock usage - new features: . UDC core now provides a generic way for tracking and reporting UDC's state (not attached, resuming, suspended, addressed, default, etc) . twl4030-usb learned that it shouldn't be enabled during init . Full DT support for DWC3 has been implemented . ab8500-usb learned about pinctrl framework . nop PHY learned about DeviceTree and regulators . DWC3 learned about suspend/resume . DWC3 can now be compiled in host-only and gadget-only (as well as DRD) configurations . UVC now enables streaming endpoint based on negotiated speed . isp1301 now implements the PHY API properly . configfs-based interface for gadget drivers which will lead to the removal of all code which just combines functions together to build functional gadget drivers. . f_serial and f_obex were converted to new configfs interface while maintaining old interface around. - non-critical fixes: . UVC gadget driver got fixes for Endpoint usage and stream calculation . ab8500-usb fixed unbalanced clock and regulator API usage . twl4030-usb got a fix for when OMAP3 is booted with cable connected . fusb300_udc got a fix for DMA usage . UVC got fixes for two assertions of the USB Video Class Compliance specification revision 1.1 . build warning issues caused by recent addition of __must_check to regulator API These are all changes which deserve a mention, all other changes are related to these one or minor spelling fixes and other similar tasks. Any time there's a long list of items (header file inclusions, kconfig entries, array initalisers, etc) and someone wants to add a new item, they *always* go and stick it at the end of the list. Guys, don't do this. Either put the new item into a randomly-chosen position or, probably better, alphanumerically sort the list. lets sort all our select statements alphanumerically. This commit was created by the following perl: while (<>) { while (/\\\s*$/) { $_ .= <>; } undef %selects if /^\s*config\s+/; if (/^\s+select\s+(\w+).*/) { if (defined($selects{$1})) { if ($selects{$1} eq $_) { print STDERR "Warning: removing duplicated $1 entry\n"; } else { print STDERR "Error: $1 differently selected\n". "\tOld: $selects{$1}\n". "\tNew: $_\n"; exit 1; } } $selects{$1} = $_; next; } if (%selects and (/^\s*$/ or /^\s+help/ or /^\s+---help---/ or /^endif/ or /^endchoice/)) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } undef %selects; } print; } if (%selects) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } } It found two duplicates: Warning: removing duplicated S5P_SETUP_MIPIPHY entry Warning: removing duplicated HARDIRQS_SW_RESEND entry and they are identical duplicates, hence the shrinkage in the diffstat of two lines. It's the introduction of the first multiplatform support on ARM, and with this (and the later branch) merged, it is now possible to build one kernel that contains support for highbank, vexpress, mvebu, socfpga, and picoxcell. More platforms will be convered over in the next few releases. Two critical last things had to be done for this to be practical and possible: * Today each platform has its own include directory under mach-<mach>/include/mach/*, and traditionally that is where a lot of driver/platform shared definitions have gone, such as platform data structures. They now need to move out to a common location instead, and this branch moves a large number of those out to include/linux/platform_data. * Each platform used to list the device trees to compile for its boards in mach-<mach>/Makefile.boot. Both of the above changes will mean that there are some merge conflicts to come (and some to resolve here). It's a one-time move and once it settles in, we should be good for quite a while. Sorry for the overhead." It's an old mobile chipset that is no longer in use, and was very likely never really used with a mainline kernel. We have not been able to find anyone interested in keeping it around in the kernel. - Removal of the legacy dmaengine driver on tegra + A handful of other things that I haven't described above."
