| | | | | | | | | | | | | In fanotify_mark_remove_from_mask() a mark is destroyed if only one of both bitmasks (mask or ignored_mask) of a mark is cleared. However the other mask may still be set and contain information that should not be lost. So only destroy a mark if both masks are cleared. | * | ata: libahci: Fix devres cleanup on failureThierry Reding2015-01-211-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit c7d7ddee7e24 ("ata: libahci: Allow using multiple regulators") releases regulators during ahci_platform_put_resources(). That doesn't work because the function is run as part of the devres machinery. Such resources are torn down in reverse order. Since the array that holds pointers to the regulators is allocated using devres after the device context to which ahci_platform_put_resources() is attached, the memory will be freed before calling ahci_platform_put_resources() and thereby causing a use-after-free error. This commit fixes this by using regular allocations for the array. The memory can then be freed after the regulators have been released. This conserves the advantages of using the managed API. | * | ata: libahci: Allow using multiple regulatorsGregory CLEMENT2015-01-194-75/+173
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The current implementation of the libahci allows using multiple PHYs but not multiple regulators. This patch adds the support of multiple regulators. Until now it was mandatory to have a PHY under a subnode, now a port subnode can contain either a regulator or a PHY (or both). In order to be able to asociate a port with a regulator the port are now a platform device in the device tree case. There was only one driver which used directly the regulator field of the ahci_host_priv structure. To preserve the bisectability the change in the ahci_imx driver was done in the same patch. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Implement percpu_ref_is_dying() which tests whether the ref is dying or dead. This is useful to determine the current state when a percpu_ref is used as a cyclic on/off switch via kill and reinit. Signed-off-by: Tejun Heo <tj@kernel.org> Cc: Kent Overstreet <kmo@daterainc.com>
| * | | | | percpu_ref: remove unnecessary ACCESS_ONCE() in percpu_ref_tryget_live()Tejun Heo2015-01-061-3/+17
| |/ / / / | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | __ref_is_percpu() needs the implied ACCESS_ONCE() in lockless_dereference() on @ref->percpu_count_ptr because the value is tested for !__PERCPU_REF_ATOMIC, which may be set asynchronously, and then used as a pointer. If the compiler generates a separate fetch when using it as a pointer, __PERCPU_REF_ATOMIC may be set in between contaminating the pointer value. percpu_ref_tryget_live() also uses ACCESS_ONCE() to test __PERCPU_REF_DEAD; however, there's no reason for this. I just copied ACCESS_ONCE() usage blindly from __ref_is_percpu(). All it does is confusing people trying to understand what's going on. This patch removes the unnecessary ACCESS_ONCE() usage from percpu_ref_tryget_live() and adds a comment explaining why __ref_is_percpu() needs it.
