* Use correct spelling of "U-Boot"Bin Meng2016-02-062-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | Correct spelling of "U-Boot" shall be used in all written text (documentation, comments in source files etc.). * net: Remove all calls to net_random_ethaddr()Joe Hershberger2015-05-201-21/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Remove the calls to net_random_ethaddr() that some boards and some drivers are calling. This is now implemented inside of net/eth.c Enable the feature for all boards that previously enabled it. * net: cosmetic: Name ethaddr variables consistentlyJoe Hershberger2015-04-181-2/+2
| | | | | | | | Use "_ethaddr" at the end of variables and drop CamelCase. Make constant values actually 'const'. Signed-off-by: Joe Hershberger <joe.hershberger@ni.com> Acked-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
* kconfig: remove redundant "string" type in arch and board KconfigsMasahiro Yamada2014-09-131-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now the types of CONFIG_SYS_{ARCH, CPU, SOC, VENDOR, BOARD, CONFIG_NAME} are specified in arch/Kconfig. We can delete the ones in arch and board Kconfig files. This commit can be easily reproduced by the following command: find . -name Kconfig -a ! -path ./arch/Kconfig | xargs sed -i -e ' /config[[:space:]]SYS_\(ARCH\|CPU\|SOC\|\VENDOR\|BOARD\|CONFIG_NAME\)/ { N s/\n[[:space:]]*string// } ' Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com>
* Add board MAINTAINERS filesMasahiro Yamada2014-07-301-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We have switched to Kconfig and the boards.cfg file is going to be removed. We have to retrieve the board status and maintainers information from it. The MAINTAINERS format as in Linux Kernel would be nice because we can crib the scripts/get_maintainer.pl script. After some discussion, we chose to put a MAINTAINERS file under each board directory, not the top-level one because we want to collect relevant information for a board into a single place. TODO: Modify get_maintainer.pl to scan multiple MAINTAINERS files. * kconfig: add board Kconfig and defconfig filesMasahiro Yamada2014-07-301-0/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit adds: - arch/${ARCH}/Kconfig provide a menu to select target boards - board/${VENDOR}/${BOARD}/Kconfig or board/${BOARD}/Kconfig set CONFIG macros to the appropriate values for each board - configs/${TARGET_BOARD}_defconfig default setting of each board (This commit was automatically generated by a conversion script based on boards.cfg) In Linux Kernel, defconfig files are located under arch/${ARCH}/configs/ directory. It works in Linux Kernel since ARCH is always given from the command line for cross compile. But in U-Boot, ARCH is not given from the command line. Which means we cannot know ARCH until the board configuration is done. That is why all the "*_defconfig" files should be gathered into a single directory ./configs/. * blackfin: replace bfin_gen_rand_mac() with eth_random_addr()Masahiro Yamada2014-05-121-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | bfin_gen_rand_mac() uses __DATE__ as the seed for random ethernet address. This makes the build non-deterministic. In the first place, it should not be implemented as a Bfin-specific function. Use eth_random_addr() instead. * punt unused clean/distclean targetsMike Frysinger2011-10-151-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | The top level Makefile does not do any recursion into subdirs when cleaning, so these clean/distclean targets in random arch/board dirs never get used. Punt them all. MAKEALL didn't report any errors related to this that I could see. Signed-off-by: Mike Frysinger <vapier@gentoo.org>
