* api: export LCD device to external appsChe-Liang Chiou2011-11-151-0/+47
| | | | | | | | | | This patch exports LCD info-query and bitmap-rendering functions to external apps. This patch is tested on a Seaboard. Because the LCD driver is not yet upstreamed, the test was done in a local downstream repo. Signed-off-by: Che-Liang Chiou <clchiou@chromium.org>
* do_reset: unify duplicate prototypesMike Frysinger2010-11-281-3/+0
| | | | | | | The duplication of the do_reset prototype has gotten out of hand, and they're not all in sync. Unify them all in command.h. Signed-off-by: Mike Frysinger <vapier@gentoo.org>
* Make sure that argv[] argument pointers are not modified.Wolfgang Denk2010-07-041-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The hush shell dynamically allocates (and re-allocates) memory for the argument strings in the "char *argv[]" argument vector passed to commands. Any code that modifies these pointers will cause serious corruption of the malloc data structures and crash U-Boot, so make sure the compiler can check that no such modifications are being done by changing the code into "char * const argv[]". This modification is the result of debugging a strange crash caused after adding a new command, which used the following argument processing code which has been working perfectly fine in all Unix systems since version 6 - but not so in U-Boot: int main (int argc, char **argv) { while (--argc > 0 && **++argv == '-') { /* ====> */ while (*++*argv) { switch (**argv) { case 'd': debug++; break; ... default: usage (); } } } ... } The line marked "====>" will corrupt the malloc data structures and usually cause U-Boot to crash when the next command gets executed by the shell. With the modification, the compiler will prevent this with an error: increment of read-only location '*argv' N.B.: The code above can be trivially rewritten like this: while (--argc > 0 && **++argv == '-') { char *arg = *argv; while (*++arg) { switch (*arg) { ... * API for external applications.Rafal Jaworowski2008-01-091-0/+670
This is an API for external (standalone) applications running on top of U-Boot, and is meant to be more extensible and robust than the existing jumptable mechanism. It is similar to UNIX syscall approach. See api/README for more details. Included is the demo application using this new framework (api_examples). Please note this is still an experimental feature, and is turned off by default. Signed-off-by: Rafal Jaworowski <raj@semihalf.com>
