* mac80211: unify config_interface and bss_info_changedJohannes Berg2009-05-061-33/+23
| | | | | | | | | | | The config_interface method is a little strange, it contains the BSSID and beacon updates, while bss_info_changed contains most other BSS information for each interface. This patch removes config_interface and rolls all the information it previously passed to drivers into bss_info_changed. * mac80211: clean up beacon interval settingsJohannes Berg2009-05-061-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We currently have two beacon interval configuration knobs: hw.conf.beacon_int and vif.bss_info.beacon_int. This is rather confusing, even though the former is used when we beacon ourselves and the latter when we are associated to an AP. This just deprecates the hw.conf.beacon_int setting in favour of always using vif.bss_info.beacon_int. Since it touches all the beaconing IBSS code anyway, we can also add support for the cfg80211 IBSS beacon interval configuration easily. NOTE: The hw.conf.beacon_int setting is retained for now due to drivers still using it -- I couldn't untangle all drivers, some are updated in this patch. * libertas_tf: fix skb tail pointerJohannes Berg2008-11-101-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | skb->tail can't be meant here because it's not the same across 32/64 bit compilations. This means there's no way the current driver can work on 64-bit architectures. * mac80211/drivers: rewrite the rate control APIJohannes Berg2008-10-311-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | So after the previous changes we were still unhappy with how convoluted the API is and decided to make things simpler for everybody. This completely changes the rate control API, now taking into account 802.11n with MCS rates and more control, most drivers don't support that though. * mac80211: introduce hw config change flagsJohannes Berg2008-10-311-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This makes mac80211 notify the driver which configuration actually changed, e.g. channel etc. No driver changes, this is just plumbing, driver authors are expected to act on this if they want to. Also remove the HW CONFIG debug printk, it's incorrect, often we configure something else. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes@sipsolutions.net> Signed-off-by: John W. * net: convert print_mac to %pMJohannes Berg2008-10-271-3/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | This converts pretty much everything to print_mac. There were a few things that had conflicts which I have just dropped for now, no harm done. I've built an allyesconfig with this and looked at the files that weren't built very carefully, but it's a huge patch. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes@sipsolutions.net> Signed-off-by: David S. * mac80211: use nl80211 interface typesJohannes Berg2008-09-151-9/+9
| | | | | | | | | | There's really no reason for mac80211 to be using its own interface type defines. Use the nl80211 types and simplify the configuration code a bit: there's no need to translate them any more now. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes@sipsolutions.net> Signed-off-by: John W. * libertas_tf: main.c, data paths and mac80211 handlersLuis Carlos Cobo2008-08-221-0/+666
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch contains most of the libertastf driver, just lacking command helper functions and usb specific functions. Currently, monitor, managed, ap and mesh interfaces are supported. Even though this driver supports the same hardware as the "libertas" driver, it uses a different (thin) firmware, that makes it suitable for a mac80211 driver.
