| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Supply accessor functions to set attributes in proc_dir_entry structs. The following are supplied: proc_set_size() and proc_set_user(). * | [media] demux.h: Remove duplicated enumMauro Carvalho Chehab2013-04-081-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | "enum dmx_ts_pes" and "typedef enum dmx_pes_type_t" are just the same enum declared twice, since Kernel (2.6.12). There's no reason to duplicate it there, and sparse complains about that: drivers/media/dvb-core/dmxdev.c:600:55: warning: mixing different enum types So, remove the internal define, keeping just the external one. Internally, use only "enum dmx_ts_pes", as it is too late to drop dmx_pes_type_t from the userspace API. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>

| * Drivers: media: remove __dev* attributes.Greg Kroah-Hartman2013-01-032-6/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev* markings need to be removed. This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit from these drivers. Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand. * | [media] dvb: push down ioctl lock in dvb_usercopyNikolaus Schulz2012-12-274-7/+29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since most dvb ioctls wrap their real work with dvb_usercopy, the static mutex used in dvb_usercopy effectively is a global lock for dvb ioctls. Unfortunately, frontend ioctls can be blocked by the frontend thread for several seconds; this leads to unacceptable lock contention. Mitigate that by pushing the mutex from dvb_usercopy down to the individual, device specific ioctls. There are 10 such ioctl functions using dvb_usercopy, either calling it directly, or via the trivial wrapper dvb_generic_ioctl. The following already employ their own locking and look safe: • dvb_demux_ioctl (as per dvb_demux_do_ioctl) • dvb_dvr_ioctl (as per dvb_dvr_do_ioctl) • dvb_osd_ioctl (as per single non-trivial callee) • fdtv_ca_ioctl (as per callees) • dvb_frontend_ioctl The following functions do not, and are thus changed to use a device specific mutex: • dvb_net_ioctl (as per dvb_net_do_ioctl) • dvb_ca_en50221_io_ioctl (as per dvb_ca_en50221_io_do_ioctl) • dvb_video_ioctl • dvb_audio_ioctl • dvb_ca_ioctl Signed-off-by: Nikolaus Schulz <schulz@macnetix.de> Signed-off-by: Michael Krufky <mkrufky@linuxtv.org> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
* | [media] ttpci: Fix a missing Kconfig dependencyMauro Carvalho Chehab2012-12-271-5/+0

* [media] drivers/media/pci/ttpci/budget-av.c: fix error return codePeter Senna Tschudin2012-11-221-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Convert a nonnegative error return code to a negative one, as returned elsewhere in the function. A simplified version of the semantic match that finds this problem is as follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/) // <smpl> ( if@p1 (\(ret < 0\|ret != 0\)) { ... return ret; } | ret@p1 = 0 ) ... when != ret = e1 when != &ret *if(...) { ... when != ret = e2 when forall return ret; } // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Peter Senna Tschudin <peter.senna@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
* [media] remove include/linux/dvb/dmx.hMauro Carvalho Chehab2012-10-191-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | The only reason for this header is to make sure that include linux/time.h were added before uapi/*/dmx.h. Just push down the time.h header on the few places where this is used, and drop this new header. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
* [media] v4l2: make vidioc_s_audio constHans Verkuil2012-09-261-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | Write-only ioctls should have a const argument in the ioctl op. Do this conversion for vidioc_s_audio. Adding const for write-only ioctls was decided during the 2012 Media Workshop. * [media] Kconfig: merge all customise options into just oneMauro Carvalho Chehab2012-08-211-42/+42
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Instead of having 3 options to allow customizing the media sub-drivers (tuners, I2C drivers, frontends), merge all of them into just one. That simplifies the life for users, as they can just keep this untouched. Life for developers is also simpler, as there's now just one Kconfig item to remember, for the ancillary sub-drivers providing supports for chips that could change from one board design to another. * [media] common: move media/common/tuners to media/tunersMauro Carvalho Chehab2012-08-131-1/+1
| | | | | | | Move the tuners one level up, as the "common" directory will be used by drivers that are shared between more than one driver. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
* [media] Rename media/dvb as media/pciMauro Carvalho Chehab2012-08-1322-0/+14707
The remaining dvb drivers are pci, so rename them to match the bus. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
