| * | net: filter: BPF 'JIT' compiler for PPC64Matt Evans2011-07-217-1/+1106
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | An implementation of a code generator for BPF programs to speed up packet filtering on PPC64, inspired by Eric Dumazet's x86-64 version. Filter code is generated as an ABI-compliant function in module_alloc()'d mem with stackframe & prologue/epilogue generated if required (simple filters don't need anything more than an li/blr). The filter's local variables, M[], live in registers. Supports all BPF opcodes, although "complicated" loads from negative packet offsets (e.g. SKF_LL_OFF) are not yet supported. There are a couple of further optimisations left for future work; many-pass assembly with branch-reach reduction and a register allocator to push M[] variables into volatile registers would improve the code quality further. This currently supports big-endian 64-bit PowerPC only (but is fairly simple to port to PPC32 or LE!). Enabled in the same way as x86-64: echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/core/bpf_jit_enable Or, enabled with extra debug output: echo 2 > /proc/sys/net/core/bpf_jit_enable Signed-off-by: Matt Evans <matt@ozlabs.org> Acked-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. | * | | | net: remove mm.h inclusion from netdevice.hAlexey Dobriyan2011-06-2117-0/+17

To prevent mm.h inclusion via other channels also extract "enum dma_data_direction" definition into separate header. This tiny piece is what gluing netdevice.h with mm.h via "netdevice.h => dmaengine.h => dma-mapping.h => scatterlist.h => mm.h". Removal of mm.h from scatterlist.h was tried and was found not feasible on most archs, so the link was cutoff earlier. Hope people are OK with tiny include file. Note, that mm_types.h is still dragged in, but it is a separate story. Signed-off-by: Alexey Dobriyan <adobriyan@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

In particular, it created linear mappings for 0 and 0xC0000000 addresses because lguest used to switch to its real page tables quite late in boot. However, since d50d8fe19 Linux initialized boot page tables in head_32.S even before the "are we lguest?" boot jump. So, now we can simplify things: the Host pagetable code assumes 1:1 linear mapping until it first calls the LHCALL_NEW_PGTABLE hypercall, which we now do before we reach C code. This also means that the Host doesn't need to know anything about the Guest's PAGE_OFFSET. (Non-Linux guests might not even have such a thing). Signed-off-by: Rusty Russell <rusty@rustcorp.com.au>

All of that has been removed in 2.6.39 and the Xen IRQ subsystem uses an linked list that is populated when the call to 'xen_allocate_irq_gsi' (universally done from any of the xen_bind_* calls) is done. The 'xen_allocate_pirq_gsi' is a NOP and there is no need for it anymore so lets remove it. Signed-off-by: Konrad Rzeszutek Wilk <konrad.wilk@oracle.com>

[ hpa: this was deferred because we believed for a long time that the recent reshuffling of the boot priorities in commit 660e34cebf0a11d54f2d5dd8838607452355f321 fixed this platform. Unfortunately, SPARSEMEM on 32bit had rather coarse (512MiB) addr->node mapping granularity due to lack of space in page->flags. This led to boot failure on certain AMD NUMA machines which had 128MiB alignment on nodes. Patches to properly detect this condition and reject NUMA configuration are posted[1] but deemed too pervasive for merge at this point (-rc6). Disable AMD NUMA for 32bit for now and re-enable once the detection logic is merged. The gpio irq handler falsely assumes that the handler data is the irq base number and that is no longer true. Set the irq handler data to be a pointer to the corresponding gpio controller. The chained irq handler can then use it to extract both the irq base number and the gpio registers structure.
