* Revert "Temporarily Revert "Add basic loop fusion pass.""Eric Christopher2019-04-171-0/+266
| | | | | | | | The reversion apparently deleted the test/Transforms directory. Will be re-reverting again. llvm-svn: 358552
* Temporarily Revert "Add basic loop fusion pass."Eric Christopher2019-04-171-266/+0
| | | | | | | | As it's causing some bot failures (and per request from kbarton). This reverts commit r358543/ab70da07286e618016e78247e4a24fcb84077fda. llvm-svn: 358546
* [ValueTracking] More accurate unsigned add overflow detectionNikita Popov2019-02-281-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | Part of D58593. Compute precise overflow conditions based on all known bits, rather than just the sign bits. Unsigned a + b overflows iff a > ~b, and we can determine whether this always/never happens based on the minimal and maximal values achievable for a and ~b subject to the known bits constraint. llvm-svn: 355072

* Move the personality function from LandingPadInst to FunctionDavid Majnemer2015-06-171-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The personality routine currently lives in the LandingPadInst. This isn't desirable because: - All LandingPadInsts in the same function must have the same personality routine. This means that each LandingPadInst beyond the first has an operand which produces no additional information. - There is ongoing work to introduce EH IR constructs other than LandingPadInst. Moving the personality routine off of any one particular Instruction and onto the parent function seems a lot better than have N different places a personality function can sneak onto an exceptional function. * IR: Make metadata typeless in assemblyDuncan P. N. Exon Smith2014-12-151-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now that `Metadata` is typeless, reflect that in the assembly. These are the matching assembly changes for the metadata/value split in r223802. - Only use the `metadata` type when referencing metadata from a call intrinsic -- i.e., only when it's used as a `Value`. - Stop pretending that `ValueAsMetadata` is wrapped in an `MDNode` when referencing it from call intrinsics. So, assembly like this: define @foo(i32 %v) { call void @llvm.foo(metadata !{i32 %v}, metadata !0) call void @llvm.foo(metadata !{i32 7}, metadata !0) call void @llvm.foo(metadata !1, metadata !0) call void @llvm.foo(metadata !3, metadata !0) call void @llvm.foo(metadata !{metadata !3}, metadata !0) ret void, !bar !2 } !0 = metadata !{metadata !2} !1 = metadata !{i32* @global} !2 = metadata !{metadata !3} !3 = metadata !{} turns into this: define @foo(i32 %v) { call void @llvm.foo(metadata i32 %v, metadata !0) call void @llvm.foo(metadata i32 7, metadata !0) call void @llvm.foo(metadata i32* @global, metadata !0) call void @llvm.foo(metadata !3, metadata !0) call void @llvm.foo(metadata !{!3}, metadata !0) ret void, !bar !2 } !0 = !{!2} !1 = !{i32* @global} !2 = !{!3} !3 = !{} I wrote an upgrade script that handled almost all of the tests in llvm and many of the tests in cfe (even handling many `CHECK` lines). I've attached it (or will attach it in a moment if you're speedy) to PR21532 to help everyone update their out-of-tree testcases. This is part of PR21532. llvm-svn: 224257
* [ValueTracking] Extend range metadata to call/invokeJingyue Wu2014-06-191-0/+38
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: With this patch, range metadata can be added to call/invoke including IntrinsicInst. Previously, it could only be added to load. Rename computeKnownBitsLoad to computeKnownBitsFromRangeMetadata because range metadata is not only used by load. Update the language reference to reflect this change. Test Plan: Add several tests in range-2.ll to confirm the verifier is happy with having range metadata on call/invoke. Add two tests in AddOverFlow.ll to confirm annotating range metadata to call/invoke can benefit InstCombine. * [InstCombine] mark ADD with nuw if no unsigned overflowJingyue Wu2014-06-171-1/+23
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: As a starting step, we only use one simple heuristic: if the sign bits of both a and b are zero, we can prove "add a, b" do not unsigned overflow, and thus convert it to "add nuw a, b". Updated all affected tests and added two new tests (@zero_sign_bit and @zero_sign_bit2) in AddOverflow.ll Test Plan: make check-all Reviewers: eliben, rafael, meheff, chandlerc Reviewed By: chandlerc Subscribers: chandlerc, llvm-commits Differential Revision: http://reviews.llvm.org/D4144 llvm-svn: 211084
* InstCombine: Improvement to check if signed addition overflows.Rafael Espindola2014-06-041-0/+58
This patch implements two things: 1. If we know one number is positive and another is negative, we return true as signed addition of two opposite signed numbers will never overflow. 2. Implemented TODO : If one of the operands only has one non-zero bit, and if the other operand has a known-zero bit in a more significant place than it (not including the sign bit) the ripple may go up to and fill the zero, but won't change the sign. e.x - (x & ~4) + 1 We make sure that we are ignoring 0 at MSB.
