* [PEI, AArch64] Use empty spaces in stack area for local stack slot allocation.Geoff Berry2016-06-021-2/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: If the target requests it, use emptry spaces in the fixed and callee-save stack area to allocate local stack objects. AArch64: Change last callee-save reg stack object alignment instead of size to leave a gap to take advantage of above change. * [AArch64] Break the dependency between FP and SP when possible.Chad Rosier2016-03-141-2/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | When the SP in not changed because of realignment/VLAs etc., we restore the SP by using the previous value of SP and not the FP. Breaking the dependency will help in cases when the epilog of a callee is close to the epilog of the caller; for then "sub sp, fp, #" depends on the load restoring the FP in the epilog of the callee. http://reviews.llvm.org/D18060 Patch by Aditya Kumar and Evandro Menezes. llvm-svn: 263458
* [AArch64] Simplify callee-save register save/restore. NFC.Geoff Berry2016-02-011-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: Simplify callee-save register save/restore code generation by remembering the size of the callee-save area when it is computed so we don't have to scan the prologue/epilogue instructions again later to reconstruct it. This is intended to simplify follow-on changes that reduce the number of registers saved/restored. * CXX_FAST_TLS calling convention: performance improvement for AArch64.Manman Ren2015-12-161-2/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The access function has a short entry and a short exit, the initialization block is only run the first time. To improve the performance, we want to have a short frame at the entry and exit. We explicitly handle most of the CSRs via copies. Only the CSRs that are not handled via copies will be in CSR_SaveList. Frame lowering and prologue/epilogue insertion will generate a short frame in the entry and exit according to CSR_SaveList. The majority of the CSRs will be handled by register allcoator. Register allocator will try to spill and reload them in the initialization block. We add CSRsViaCopy, it will be explicitly handled during lowering. 1> we first set FunctionLoweringInfo->SplitCSR if conditions are met (the target supports it for the given machine function and the function has only return exits). We also call TLI->initializeSplitCSR to perform initialization. 2> we call TLI->insertCopiesSplitCSR to insert copies from CSRsViaCopy to virtual registers at beginning of the entry block and copies from virtual registers to CSRsViaCopy at beginning of the exit blocks. 3> we also need to make sure the explicit copies will not be eliminated. The target independent portion was committed as r255353. rdar://problem/23557469 Differential Revision: http://reviews.llvm.org/D15341 llvm-svn: 255821
* Fix typo "fuction" noticed in comments in AssumptionCache.h, and also all ↵Nick Lewycky2015-07-291-1/+1
| | | | | | | | the other files that have the same typo. All comments, no functionality change! (Merely a "fuctionality" change.) Bonus change to remove emacs major mode marker from SystemZMachineFunctionInfo.cpp because emacs already knows it's C++ from the extension. Also fix typo "appeary" in AMDGPUMCAsmInfo.h. llvm-svn: 243585
* WebAssembly: fix build breakage.JF Bastien2015-07-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: processFunctionBeforeCalleeSavedScan was renamed to determineCalleeSaves and now takes a BitVector parameter as of rL242165, reviewed in http://reviews.llvm.org/D10909 WebAssembly is still marked as experimental and therefore doesn't build by default. It does, however, grep by default! I notice that processFunctionBeforeCalleeSavedScan is still mentioned in a few comments and error messages, which I also fixed. | | | | | | | | | | | | | The patch is generated using this command: tools/clang/tools/extra/clang-tidy/tool/run-clang-tidy.py -fix \ -checks=-*,llvm-namespace-comment -header-filter='llvm/.*|clang/.*' \ llvm/lib/ Thanks to Eugene Kosov for the original patch! llvm-svn: 240137
* Canonicalize header guards into a common format.Benjamin Kramer2014-08-131-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | Add header guards to files that were missing guards. Remove #endif comments as they don't seem common in LLVM (we can easily add them back if we decide they're useful) Changes made by clang-tidy with minor tweaks. llvm-svn: 215558
* AArch64/ARM64: move ARM64 into AArch64's placeTim Northover2014-05-241-0/+163
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit starts with a "git mv ARM64 AArch64" and continues out from there, renaming the C++ classes, intrinsics, and other target-local objects for consistency. "ARM64" test directories are also moved, and tests that began their life in ARM64 use an arm64 triple, those from AArch64 use an aarch64 triple. Both should be equivalent though. This finishes the AArch64 merge, and everyone should feel free to continue committing as normal now. llvm-svn: 209577
* AArch64/ARM64: remove AArch64 from tree prior to renaming ARM64.Tim Northover2014-05-241-149/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I'm doing this in two phases for a better "git blame" record. This commit removes the previous AArch64 backend and redirects all functionality to ARM64. It also deduplicates test-lines and removes orphaned AArch64 tests. The next step will be "git mv ARM64 AArch64" and rewire most of the tests. Hopefully LLVM is still functional, though it would be even better if no-one ever had to care because the rename happens straight afterwards. llvm-svn: 209576
* AArch64: remove ConstantIsland pass & put literals in separate section.Tim Northover2013-02-151-11/+0
| | | | | | | | This implements the review suggestion to simplify the AArch64 backend. If we later discover that we *really* need the extra complexity of the ConstantIslands pass for performance reasons it can be resurrected. llvm-svn: 175258
* Fix formatting in AArch64 backend.Tim Northover2013-02-051-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | This should fix three purely whitespace issues: + 80 column violations. + Tab characters. + TableGen brace placement. No functional changes. llvm-svn: 174370
* Add AArch64 as an experimental target.Tim Northover2013-01-311-0/+158
This patch adds support for AArch64 (ARM's 64-bit architecture) to LLVM in the "experimental" category. Currently, it won't be built unless requested explicitly. This initial commit should have support for: + Assembly of all scalar (i.e. non-NEON, non-Crypto) instructions (except the late addition CRC instructions). + CodeGen features required for C++03 and C99. + Compilation for the "small" memory model: code+static data < 4GB. + Absolute and position-independent code. + GNU-style (i.e. "__thread") TLS. + Debugging information. The principal omission, currently, is performance tuning. This patch excludes the NEON support also reviewed due to an outbreak of batshit insanity in our legal department. That will be committed soon bringing the changes to precisely what has been approved. Further reviews would be gratefully received. llvm-svn: 174054
