* [AArch64] Update successor probabilities after ccmp-conversionMatthew Simpson2017-06-271-4/+44
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch modifies the conditional compares pass so that it keeps successor probabilities up-to-date after the conversion. Previously, successor probabilities were being normalized to a uniform distribution, even though they may have been heavily biased prior to the conversion (e.g., if one of the edges was the back edge of a loop). This loss of information affected passes later in the pipeline. Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D34109 llvm-svn: 306412
* [CodeGen] Rename MachineInstrBuilder::addOperand. NFCDiana Picus2017-01-131-6/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | Rename from addOperand to just add, to match the other method that has been added to MachineInstrBuilder for adding more than just 1 operand. See https://reviews.llvm.org/D28057 for the whole discussion. Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D28556 llvm-svn: 291891

* [AArch64] Register passes so they can be run by llcDiana Picus2016-08-011-5/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Initialize all AArch64-specific passes in the TargetMachine so they can be run by llc. This can lead to conflicts in opt with some command line options that share the same name as the pass, so I took this opportunity to do some cleanups: * rename all relevant command line options from "aarch64-blah" to "aarch64-enable-blah" and update the tests accordingly * run clang-format on their declarations * move all these declarations to a common place (the TargetMachine) as opposed to having them scattered around (AArch64BranchRelaxation and AArch64AddressTypePromotion were the only offenders) llvm-svn: 277322

* AArch64: Avoid implicit iterator conversions, NFCDuncan P. N. Exon Smith2016-07-081-3/+3
| | | | | | | | Avoid implicit conversions from MachineInstrBundleInstr to MachineInstr* in the AArch64 backend, mainly by preferring MachineInstr& over MachineInstr* when a pointer isn't nullable. llvm-svn: 274924

* [NFC] Header cleanupMehdi Amini2016-04-181-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Removed some unused headers, replaced some headers with forward class declarations. Found using simple scripts like this one: clear && ack --cpp -l '#include "llvm/ADT/IndexedMap.h"' | xargs grep -L 'IndexedMap[<]' | xargs grep -n --color=auto 'IndexedMap' Patch by Eugene Kosov <claprix@yandex.ru> Differential Revision: http://reviews.llvm.org/D19219 From: Mehdi Amini <mehdi.amini@apple.com> llvm-svn: 266595
* WIP: CodeGen: Use MachineInstr& in MachineInstrBundle.h, NFCDuncan P. N. Exon Smith2016-02-271-1/+1
| | | | | | | | Update APIs in MachineInstrBundle.h to take and return MachineInstr& instead of MachineInstr* when the instruction cannot be null. Besides being a nice cleanup, this is tacking toward a fix for PR26753. llvm-svn: 262141
* Reapply "CodeGen: Use references in MachineTraceMetrics::Trace, NFC"Duncan P. N. Exon Smith2016-02-221-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This reverts commit r261510, effectively reapplying r261509. The original commit missed a caller in AArch64ConditionalCompares. Original commit message: Pass non-null arguments by reference in MachineTraceMetrics::Trace, simplifying future work to remove implicit iterator => pointer conversions. llvm-svn: 261511
* Normalize MBB's successors' probabilities in several locations.Cong Hou2015-12-131-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds some missing calls to MBB::normalizeSuccProbs() in several locations where it should be called. Those places are found by checking if the sum of successors' probabilities is approximate one in MachineBlockPlacement pass with some instrumented code (not in this patch). Differential revision: http://reviews.llvm.org/D15259 llvm-svn: 255455
* CodeGen: Redo analyzePhysRegs() and computeRegisterLiveness()Matthias Braun2015-12-111-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | computeRegisterLiveness() was broken in that it reported dead for a register even if a subregister was alive. I assume this was because the results of analayzePhysRegs() are hard to understand with respect to subregisters. This commit: Changes the results of analyzePhysRegs (=struct PhysRegInfo) to be clearly understandable, also renames the fields to avoid silent breakage of third-party code (and improve the grammar). Fix all (two) users of computeRegisterLiveness() in llvm: By reenabling it and removing workarounds for the bug. This fixes http://llvm.org/PR24535 and http://llvm.org/PR25033 Differential Revision: http://reviews.llvm.org/D15320 llvm-svn: 255362
* wrap OptSize and MinSize attributes for easier and consistent access (NFCI)Sanjay Patel2015-08-041-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Create wrapper methods in the Function class for the OptimizeForSize and MinSize attributes. We want to hide the logic of "or'ing" them together when optimizing just for size (-Os). Currently, we are not consistent about this and rely on a front-end to always set OptimizeForSize (-Os) if MinSize (-Oz) is on. Thus, there are 18 FIXME changes here that should be added as follow-on patches with regression tests. This patch is NFC-intended: it just replaces existing direct accesses of the attributes by the equivalent wrapper call. Differential Revision: http://reviews.llvm.org/D11734 llvm-svn: 243994

* AArch64/ARM64: move ARM64 into AArch64's placeTim Northover2014-05-241-0/+919
This commit starts with a "git mv ARM64 AArch64" and continues out from there, renaming the C++ classes, intrinsics, and other target-local objects for consistency. "ARM64" test directories are also moved, and tests that began their life in ARM64 use an arm64 triple, those from AArch64 use an aarch64 triple. Both should be equivalent though. This finishes the AArch64 merge, and everyone should feel free to continue committing as normal now. llvm-svn: 209577
